JAMMU: The Maha Tiranga Yatra in Jammu saw enthusiastic participation from people across all walks of life as it proceeded from Gulshan Ground, PHQ to Hari Singh Park. The event was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, in the presence of prominent dignitaries.
Among those present were MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLAs Arvind Gupta and Vikram Randhawa, DDC member Taranjit Singh Tony, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Commissioner JMC Dr. Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, along with members of civil society, students, school staff, and the general public.



Elected representatives, civil society members, students, and teachers carried the national flag, chanting slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram,” expressing a strong sense of patriotism. Participants also pledged to uphold cleanliness, use resources responsibly, and contribute actively to national progress.
To promote environmental conservation, dignitaries planted saplings at Hari Singh Park. The Yatra concluded with students performing patriotic songs and a dance, adding a vibrant touch to the Independence Day celebrations.
