Div Com Kashmir Reviews Srinagar Smart City Projects, Urges Timely Completion
SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today reviewed the physical and financial progress of Srinagar Smart City projects in a meeting held here.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner SMC Fazlul Haseeb, Chief Engineers of I&FC, KPDCL, PWD R&B, SSCL, Joint Commissioner SMC, General Managers of Finance and P&UD (SSCL), Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineer of Srinagar Smart City Limited, and other officers.
Commissioner SMC presented a detailed overview of SSCL’s developmental and beautification projects across the city, including Jhelum Waterfront Development & Water Transport, Urban Rejuvenation & Lakefront Development, Heritage Conservation & Downtown Renewal, Central Business District Upgradation, Urban Mobility, Street & Intersection Development, Information Technology, City Beautification & Urban Art, and the Green & Resilient Srinagar initiative.
Out of 161 sanctioned projects, 153 have been completed, with work on the remaining eight currently underway.
Addressing the officers, Div Com Garg emphasized that the Smart City projects aim to enhance public services and urged that all planned initiatives be delivered on schedule. He stressed that as the project deadlines approach, executing agencies must accelerate work to meet timelines.
To ensure smooth execution, he called on officers to raise interdepartmental issues promptly for early resolution. Regarding the development of bus stops for e-buses, he directed SSCL to factor in winter conditions and develop enclosed structures. He also instructed the full operationalization of ITMS cameras and other IT services at ICCC.
