Div Com Kashmir Reviews Expansion of Civil Enclave at Srinagar Airport

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today chaired a high-level meeting to review the expansion of the Civil Enclave at Srinagar Airport and discuss the relocation of CRPF barracks currently situated near the airport premises.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, along with senior officers from the CRPF, CISF, Airports Authority of India (AAI), and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Detailed deliberations were held on multiple aspects of the proposed infrastructure, including the development of a road circuit connecting the Ring Road, Railway Station, and Srinagar Airport. The feasibility of establishing new CRPF barracks and CISF accommodation to facilitate airport operations was also discussed.

Addressing the officers, the Divisional Commissioner directed them to review the alignment of the proposed connecting road to ensure efficient connectivity while minimizing land acquisition challenges. He further instructed the concerned departments to identify suitable land parcels for the relocation of CRPF facilities, in compliance with safety and regulatory norms set by Air Force authorities.

Emphasizing the need for close coordination among all stakeholder departments, the Div Com directed that the final plan be completed by November 20, highlighting that the project would play a crucial role in enhancing passenger convenience and improving overall connectivity.
