Tangmarg, Nov 19: A massive fire broke out today at the Divisional Forest Office in Tangmarg, causing extensive damage to the building and official records. Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and launched a major operation to control the blaze.
Eyewitnesses reported that thick smoke and flames engulfed the office premises in the early hours, triggering panic among staff and residents nearby. Fire tenders from Tangmarg and adjoining areas were pressed into service to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.
Officials confirmed that important files, documents, and furniture were destroyed in the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
