DLSA Budgam conducts awareness program on NALSA DAWN scheme at GMS Burgroo

BUDGAM: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam organized an awareness programme on the NALSA DAWN — Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug-Free India at Government Middle School, Burgroo.

The event was conducted under the supervision of O.P. Bhagat, Chairman, DLSA Budgam, and guided by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary, DLSA Budgam. The programme highlighted the objectives of the NALSA DAWN Scheme 2025, which focuses on establishing district-level units to ensure access to justice, spread legal awareness, and provide support to victims of drug abuse, thereby promoting a healthier and drug-free society.

Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs) deputed by DLSA Budgam served as resource persons, explaining the psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug abuse. They also informed participants about legal support and rehabilitation measures available under the DAWN Scheme, inspiring youth to become ambassadors of change in the fight against drugs.

The initiative aimed to educate students and the wider community about the dangers of substance abuse and to encourage collective efforts toward a drug-free society. Teachers and students of Government Middle School, Burgroo, actively engaged in the programme, contributing to its success and making it a highly participatory and impactful event.
