JAMMU: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jammu, organized a cleanliness and plantation drive at the District Court Complex, Janipur, today, 2nd October 2025.
The event commenced with a floral tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by Y. P. Bourney, Chairman of DLSA Jammu, in the presence of other judicial officers of District Jammu, symbolizing that truth and justice remain guiding principles in contemporary times.
While addressing the gathering, Y. P. Bourney, Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, highlighted Gandhi Ji’s teachings on truth, non-violence, and cleanliness. He emphasized that cleanliness begins with oneself, extends to one’s home, and ultimately to the surrounding environment, urging everyone to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
A plantation drive was also carried out within the District Court campus, with all judicial officers planting saplings to promote environmental awareness. They stressed that reflecting on Gandhi Ji’s teachings is crucial for fostering peace and harmony in society.
In a gesture of appreciation, Pr. District and Sessions Judge Y. P. Bourney presented refreshment boxes to the dedicated Safai Karamcharis of the District Court Complex, acknowledging their hard work and contributions.
The programme was attended by judicial officers, ministerial staff, LADCs, panel lawyers, PLVs, and staff of DLSA Jammu.
