SRINAGAR: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) J&K, Dr. Arvind Karwani, conducted inspections this week of under-construction transit accommodation sites for PM Package employees across North, Central, and South Kashmir.

During the visits, he was accompanied by senior officers from the district administration and relevant line departments. Interacting with site engineers, Dr. Karwani stressed the importance of completing targets in a time-bound manner before the onset of winter. He particularly highlighted the early completion of allied works such as boundary walls, internal roads, and basic amenities, ensuring that allotted quarters can be handed over to employees promptly, in line with government guidelines. He also urged engineers to maintain strict adherence to the approved DPR to ensure quality construction.

Dr. Karwani further engaged with PM Package employees in Baramulla, Kupwara, Srinagar, Budgam, and Anantnag, listening attentively to their concerns regarding allotment of quarters and essential facilities including water, power, sanitation, education, and recreational amenities for children. He assured them that all issues would be addressed promptly.

Notably, under the PMDP programme, 6,000 quarters are being constructed at 20 locations across the Kashmir Valley for PM Package employees, of which around 3,500 have already been completed.
