Dr Farooq Abdullah reviews flood situation in River Jhelum

SRINAGAR: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday visited the Zero Bridge area in Srinagar to assess the flood situation in River Jhelum.

In a statement on Facebook, the party said, “JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), visited Zero Bridge to review the prevailing flood scenario.”

The leaders also inspected the flood control room at Zero Bridge, where officials briefed them about the current situation and the measures being taken to mitigate possible flooding.

The National Conference headquarters, Nawa-e-Subah, is situated near the banks of River Jhelum, which is presently flowing above the flood declaration mark.
