Srinagar: The Traffic Police Headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir has announced temporary traffic restrictions on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH-44) on November 1 and 2 due to the biannual Durbar Move.

As per an advisory issued by Inspector General of Police (Traffic) J&K, Vivek Gupta, only one-way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu will be allowed on both days to facilitate the movement of government officials and convoys carrying important records from the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to Jammu.

“No upward traffic, including heavy motor vehicles, paramilitary forces, or other government convoys, will be permitted from Jammu to Srinagar on these two days,” the statement said.

The police emphasized that the restriction is a temporary measure to ensure the safe and smooth passage of official convoys and to prevent congestion on the busy highway. Traffic Control Rooms at Srinagar, Ramban, Udhampur, and Jammu will remain active round the clock to monitor and manage traffic flow.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and avoid non-essential travel on these dates. Only emergency or essential vehicles will be allowed with prior approval from the Traffic Headquarters.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and follow the advisories for their safety and convenience.
