UDHAMPUR: Dussehra was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and religious fervor at the Sports Stadium Udhampur this evening, reflecting the festive spirit seen across the country. The event, organized by the Dussehra Utsav Samiti, was graced by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, as the chief guest.
Thousands of spectators gathered to witness the spectacular festivities, including the symbolic burning of the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad, representing the triumph of good over evil.
Prominent dignitaries present included Udhampur West MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta, Udhampur East MLA R.S. Pathania, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, and President of the Dussehra Utsav Samiti, Vikram Singh Slathia, along with other notable citizens and a large, enthusiastic crowd.
To ensure a smooth and safe celebration, the district administration made comprehensive arrangements, including security deployment, barricading, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water facilities, medical aid, and the presence of ambulances.
