Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday reaffirmed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to uphold their faith in the Constitution of India and its democratic institutions, including the Supreme Court.

Speaking to the media, Choudhary said that the people of J&K have always trusted India’s democratic framework and will continue to do so. He expressed hope that the Supreme Court would take into account the sentiments, concerns, and aspirations of the common people, especially those living in far-flung areas.

Highlighting the challenges faced by ordinary citizens, he said that farmers, labourers, and shopkeepers are struggling daily to make ends meet. One of the most pressing issues, he noted, is unemployment among the youth, with almost every household in J&K having at least one unemployed young person. Their voices, he said, deserve to be heard and understood.

Choudhary emphasized that parents across J&K nurture strong hopes for their children — whether they aspire to be drivers, farmers, or pursue other professions — believing that hard work and opportunity will secure them a dignified life.
