Urges Everyone to Uphold the Legacy of Farmer and Public Welfare
HARYANA: Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, attended the 112th birth anniversary celebrations of Late Jannayak Choudhary Devi Lal, former Deputy Prime Minister of India and a founding leader of Haryana, today. The event, observed as “Samman Divas,” was held at New Anaj Mandi, Rohtak.
Addressing a large gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the historical significance of the day and urged everyone to follow the path and principles of Choudhary Devi Lal, who devoted his life to the welfare of farmers and the common people.
He noted that Choudhary Devi Lal consistently supported farmers, daily wage earners, shopkeepers, government employees, and the general public. During his tenure, he introduced several impactful welfare initiatives, including old-age pensions, farm loan waivers, and tax relief for small traders, the Dy CM recalled.
Paying tribute to Ch. Om Prakash Chautala, former Chief Minister of Haryana, he acknowledged Chautala’s role in carrying forward Choudhary Devi Lal’s vision. “Om Prakash Chautala was truly the Iron Man of Haryana. His leadership and dedication drove significant development in the state, fulfilling many initiatives envisioned by Choudhary Devi Lal,” he said.
