Dy CM Surinder Choudhary conducts extensive tour of Lasjan–Sumerbugh area; reviews road infrastructure, ongoing projects
SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today conducted an extensive tour of the Lasjan–Sumerbugh area to assess the progress of developmental works and address public issues.
He was accompanied by MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar; Chief Engineer R&B; and senior officers from the Public Works (R&B) Department and other concerned departments.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with several public delegations who raised various concerns related to road connectivity and infrastructure development.
Taking serious note of the public demands, the Deputy CM directed the Chief Engineer to immediately commence work on the Lasjan–Kadlabal road project, being upgraded at an estimated cost of ₹11 crore with a rigid pavement structure. He instructed the officers to ensure completion of the project by the end of November so that it can be opened for public use in December.
He also reviewed the progress on the Seer–Sumerbugh bridge and directed the concerned authorities to complete the project by 15th December.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and ensuring timely completion of all developmental works, the Deputy CM emphasized maintaining quality and efficiency in execution.
Later, he inspected the ongoing macadamization work on the Wanabal–Nowgam road and directed the concerned Executive Engineer to strictly monitor material quality to maintain construction standards.
