Rajouri: Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Visits Kangri, Provides ₹4 Lakh Relief to Landslide Victims

RAJOURI : Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today visited the Kangri area of Rajouri to express solidarity with the families of two individuals who recently lost their lives in a tragic landslide.

During the visit, he handed over financial assistance of ₹4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the bereaved families. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the families of all possible support from the government, emphasizing that the administration stands firmly with them during this difficult time.

On the spot, he directed the PWD and BRO authorities to ensure proper maintenance of roads to prevent hardships for the public, especially during the rainy season. He urged the departments to take proactive measures for timely restoration of damaged stretches and to strengthen vulnerable road sections to avert similar incidents in the future.

The Deputy Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to providing speedy relief, rehabilitation, and long-term infrastructural improvements in landslide-prone areas.

The visit was attended by ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, SE PWD Tilak Raj, EXEN PWD Nowshera Sarver Mehmood, and other concerned officers, who briefed him on the ongoing restoration works in the area.
