BEIJING: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, along with other foreign ministers from Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member countries, met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday.
In a post on social media, Jaishankar said he briefed President Xi on the recent developments in India-China relations.
Jaishankar arrived in China on Monday for a two-day visit to participate in the SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting — his first trip to the country since the sharp deterioration in bilateral ties following the Galwan Valley clashes in June 2020.
“Met President Xi Jinping this morning in Beijing along with fellow SCO Foreign Ministers,” Jaishankar posted on X.
“Conveyed the greetings of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister @narendramodi,” he wrote, adding that he had updated Xi on the current state of bilateral relations and appreciated the leadership guidance provided on both sides.
