Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned religious discrimination in the education sector, declaring it a betrayal of the Constitution. He emphasized that the principles of equality and secularism enshrined in the Constitution cannot be compromised by faith-based bias in schools or institutions.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister stated that education must remain a neutral and inclusive space, free from religious prejudice. He warned that any attempt to divide students on the basis of faith undermines both democratic values and the future of the nation.
Omar Abdullah urged education authorities to uphold constitutional safeguards and ensure equal opportunities for all communities. He reiterated that the government will take firm measures against practices that foster discrimination, stressing that the classroom should reflect unity and fairness rather than division.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come amid growing concerns over reports of religious bias in certain educational institutions. He assured that corrective steps will be taken to protect the integrity of the education system and reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding constitutional principles.
