New Delhi [India]: Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker is among eight Indian shooters who have secured their spots for the ISSF World Cup Final 2025, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from December 4 to 9.
Manu will be the only Indian shooter competing in two events at the season-ending showdown, taking part in the women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events. Indian athletes will vie for medals in five of the 12 events on the Doha program.
While Manu is expected to be in the spotlight, teenager Suruchi Singh has emerged as the breakout star of the year. She dominated the women’s 10m air pistol category with three consecutive gold medals in Buenos Aires, Lima, and Munich, and currently holds the world No. 1 ranking in the event.
Olympian Esha Singh also qualified in the women’s 10m air pistol, following her precise gold-medal performance at the fourth and final ISSF World Cup in Ningbo, China.
Other qualifiers include former world champion Rudrankksh Patil, who clinched gold in the men’s 10m air rifle in Buenos Aires, and Olympian Arjun Babuta, who earned silver in Lima in the same event.
Sift Kaur Samra, the reigning Asian Champion and world-record holder, will aim to continue her stellar form in the women’s 50m rifle three positions (3P) after her gold in Buenos Aires. Fellow Olympian Vijayveer Sidhu secured his place in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol with a gold-winning performance at the same venue.
Rounding out the Indian contingent is Simranpreet Kaur Brar, who qualified in the women’s 25m pistol with her silver in Lima, as China’s Sun Yujie had already claimed her spot with gold in Buenos Aires.
Indian shooters will still have a chance to qualify for the Qatar Finals at the upcoming ISSF World Championship Shotgun in Athens and the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, scheduled for October and November.
