Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the remarkable coordination among India’s three armed services compelled Pakistan to surrender during Operation Sindoor.
Addressing Navy personnel aboard INS Vikrant, Modi praised the courage and determination of India’s security forces, crediting them for the nation’s success in “eliminating Maoist terrorism.”
“INS Vikrant is not just a warship; it stands as a testament to 21st-century India’s hard work, talent, and commitment,” the Prime Minister said. He described the indigenously built carrier as a powerful symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and a reflection of the armed forces’ growing capabilities.
Highlighting progress against internal threats, Modi said India is on the verge of being completely free from Maoist violence. “This freedom is knocking on our doors. Earlier, 125 districts were affected by Maoist terror; today, that number has come down to just 11,” he said, expressing confidence that police forces will soon achieve total success.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s goal of positioning India among the world’s leading defence exporters, noting that over 40 warships and submarines have been built by Indian shipyards since 2014.
Referring to India’s advanced weaponry, Modi said, “The name BrahMos now strikes fear in some minds, and many nations are eager to acquire these missiles.”
Reflecting on his stay aboard INS Vikrant, Modi said, “The night I spent with you all is hard to describe. I witnessed your energy, your patriotism, and the pride with which you sang about Operation Sindoor. No words can truly capture what a soldier feels on the battlefield.”
“My Diwali has been special this year—it was celebrated among you,” he added.
