Mumbai: Actor Faissal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan, has publicly announced that he is severing all familial and estate ties with his family, including his late father Tahir Husain, mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, and brother Aamir Khan.
According to the notice, Faissal stated that he will not live in Aamir Khan’s residence and will not claim any maintenance from him.
“I, FAISSAL KHAN, have, from the date hereof, severed all familial as well as estate ties with my family members, whose names are detailed in the Schedule below,” a portion of the notice read.
The notice listed several family members, including Zeenat Tahir Hussain, Aamir Khan, Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Farhat Datta, Rajiv Datta, Kiran Rao, Nikhat Hegde, Santosh Hegde, Seher Hegde, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, and Imran Khan.
“And I will, from the date hereof, not reside in the residence of my brother Aamir Khan, nor will I claim any monthly allowance or maintenance from him,” the notice added.
Faissal cited past grievances, including alleged forced medication and confinement at home against his wishes, as the reasons behind his decision. The notice stated: “During the period 2005 to 2007, I was subjected to unwanted forced medication. Between 2005 and 2006, I was confined to home, akin to house arrest, against my wishes, by some family members for their personal interests.”
He also alleged that he was coerced into giving up his signatory rights and accused his mother, Zeenat Tahir Hussain, and elder sister, Nikhat Hegde, of falsely claiming that he suffered from “paranoid schizophrenia.”
“I was being forced to give up my signatory rights by my family members. After leaving home, my mother and elder sister made false allegations that I was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and posed a danger to society,” Faissal stated.
The actor pointed out that a court case addressing these claims concluded in his favor. “The court case lasted about five months, and in February 2008, the court passed final judgment in my favor, rejecting the allegations and contentions made by my family members, which is a matter of record,” he noted.
Faissal further claimed that his family has continued to conspire against him and defame him by publishing false statements in print and on social media in August 2025. “Contrary to their claims, it has been my family who jeopardized my career and created turmoil in my personal and professional life since 2005,” he added.
He requested privacy and indicated plans to file a writ petition regarding the matter. “All persons are hereby requested to refrain from publishing any comments or statements about me in the public domain, and I request them to respect my privacy. I will be filing a writ petition in this matter approximately one month from now. Dated this 16th day of August, 2025,” the notice concluded.
Faissal Khan is known for his role in Mela, which starred Aamir Khan in the lead.
