Mumbai (Maharashtra): Renowned jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali on Thursday called out the media for what she described as insensitive coverage of veteran actor Dharmendra’s health.

In an Instagram post, Farah also opened up about people questioning the decision to cremate her mother, Zarine Khan, instead of offering condolences.

“My mother passed away six days ago, and instead of expressing sympathy, some were more concerned about why she chose to be cremated. Dharm Uncle is in the hospital, and now a private family video of his is going viral,” she wrote.

She continued, “Have we become so insensitive as a nation? Don’t public figures have families with emotions? What happened to humanity? Why does every imbecile feel entitled to dictate how others should live? Tragedy comes to everyone—when it is your turn, and trust me it will be, people like you will hurt you just as you hurt us.”

Zarine Khan, wife of veteran actor Sanjay Khan, passed away on November 7 at the age of 81. She is survived by her husband, daughters Sussanne, Farah and Simone Arora, and son Zayed.
