Srinagar: A massive fire erupted early Monday morning at a religious seminary (Darsgah) in the Bongam Rahmoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, damaging a three-storey building before it was brought under control by the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES).

Officials said the blaze engulfed the three-storey concrete structure belonging to the local Darsgah. Firefighters swiftly launched an operation to stop the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and managed to contain the fire after sustained efforts.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and police have launched an investigation to ascertain its origin.

Authorities have appealed to institutions and residents to follow basic fire safety precautions, particularly with the onset of colder months when the use of heating equipment typically increases.
