Flight disruptions: Railways add extra coach to Jammu–New Delhi Express

Jammu, Dec 6: In view of ongoing flight disruptions affecting air travel, the Jammu Railway Division has announced the temporary augmentation of one additional coach in the Jammu–New Delhi Express. Officials said the measure will remain in place for seven days to accommodate increased passenger demand.

Railway authorities confirmed that the extra coach has been attached to provide relief to travelers stranded due to cancellations and delays at Jammu and Srinagar airports. The move is aimed at ensuring smoother connectivity between Jammu and the national capital during the crisis.

Senior railway officials stated that the decision was taken after reviewing passenger load and requests from the public. They added that the augmentation will help ease congestion and provide alternative travel options for those affected by the disruption in air services.

Passengers welcomed the initiative, noting that railways have stepped in to provide timely support at a critical juncture. Travel industry representatives also appreciated the coordination between aviation and railway authorities to mitigate inconvenience.
