Customs officials have arrested four individuals in connection with three separate drug smuggling cases that were linked to Bangkok, leading to the seizure of ganja worth an estimated ₹11.5 crore. The arrests were made following coordinated intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance by Customs authorities.

Officials said the cases were detected during routine profiling and checks, which revealed attempts to smuggle large quantities of ganja into the country through different routes connected to Bangkok. Acting on specific inputs, Customs teams intercepted the consignments and detained the suspects involved.

The seized ganja, concealed in various forms to evade detection, was recovered during detailed examinations. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were part of organised smuggling networks operating across international borders.

Customs authorities stated that further investigation is underway to trace backward and forward linkages, identify other members of the syndicate, and ascertain the source and intended distribution channels of the contraband. The arrested individuals have been produced before the competent court, and legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant provisions of the law.

Officials reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking and disrupting transnational smuggling networks through enhanced intelligence sharing and vigilance.
