Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has emphasised the crucial role of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) in accelerating agricultural development and improving the income of farmers across the country. He stated that strengthening FPCs can help farmers achieve better market access, reduce exploitation by middlemen, and enhance value addition in the agricultural sector.

Gadkari highlighted that FPCs empower small and marginal farmers by enabling them to pool resources, adopt modern farming technologies, and negotiate better prices for both inputs and produce. He said collective efforts through FPCs can significantly increase productivity and profitability in rural areas.

Calling for greater financial support and policy incentives, the Minister urged government departments, banks, and private stakeholders to work collectively to help FPCs grow into strong, sustainable business entities. He said access to affordable credit, infrastructure, and training must be prioritised to enable these farmer-led organisations to scale their operations.

Gadkari also underlined the need for innovation in agriculture, including the promotion of bio-farming, sustainable practices, and agro-based industries that can generate more employment. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to boosting rural entrepreneurship and strengthening the agricultural value chain.

The Minister concluded by noting that FPCs can play a transformative role in the economic empowerment of farmers and in achieving long-term agricultural prosperity in the country.
