Jammu,12, 2025 : In a major action underscoring Jammu Police South Zone’s firm stance against narcotics trafficking, Police Station Gangyal achieved a significant breakthrough after a naka team intercepted a vehicle transporting heroin.
Acting under the close supervision of SP South, SDPO South and SHO Gangyal, a routine naka was laid at Purmandal Morh. During the checking, the alert team led by PSI Ashish Razdan noticed a Swift car (JK08C-8781) approaching at high speed and signaled it to stop. The police detained the occupants and carried out a thorough search of the vehicle.
The operation resulted in the recovery of 340 grams of heroin and the arrest of the following individuals:
1. Imam Hussain S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Beli Charana
2. Mushtaq Ali S/o Kashim Din R/o Arnia
3. Manshu Khan S/o Fateh Mohd R/o Camp Gole Gujral Kheriya
4. Farooq Mohd S/o Hazoor Hussain R/o Arnia
5. Mohd Manshu S/o Sher Ali R/o Arnia
A digital weighing machine was also seized from their possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 126/2025 under Sections 8, 21, 22, 27(A) and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal. Further investigation is underway.
Jammu Police South Zone reiterated its zero‑tolerance policy against drugs and reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling narcotics networks, safeguarding communities and protecting youth from the menace of substance abuse.
