GCOE Jammu hosts Rangoli and Mehandi Competitions on theme “Earning While Learning”

JAMMU: The Cultural Committee of Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu organized Rangoli and Mehandi Competitions under the theme “Earning While Learning.”

The event offered students a platform to display their artistic talents, celebrate cultural heritage, and nurture creativity, aesthetics, and teamwork.

Inaugurating the event, College Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar emphasized the importance of skill development among youth. “These traditional skills carry immense cultural value, and by enhancing them, students can create avenues for self-employment and entrepreneurship,” she said.

The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and female faculty members. Around 30 students took part in the Mehandi Competition, while 10 students participated in the Rangoli Competition.

Convener of the Cultural Committee, Dr. Davinder Kour, highlighted India’s rich cultural diversity deeply rooted in its value system.

The event was successfully organized by the Cultural Committee members, including Dr. Sushma Bala, Dr. Shalini Rana, Prof. Balwan Singh, Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Dr. Shallu Jasrotia, Prof. Deepali Devi, Dr. Shalini Sharma, and Dr. Suraj Parkash.
