GCOE Jammu celebrates National Education Day with Slogan Writing Competition
JAMMU: Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu celebrated National Education Day by organizing a Slogan Writing Competition to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister. The event paid tribute to his remarkable contribution to the development of modern education in the country.
A total of 11 students enthusiastically participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and understanding of education’s vital role in nation-building through thought-provoking slogans on the theme “Education: The Pathway to Progress.”
The event was organized by the Department of Education under the patronage of Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who highlighted education as a powerful instrument for social transformation and national growth.
The competition was judged by Prof. Sunanda Rani (HOD Science) and Prof. Anuradha Choudhary (HOD History). Arti Chadgal (B.Ed Semester I) secured the first prize, while Mansi Rajput and Neha Sharma (B.Ed Semester III) won the second and third prizes, respectively.
Participants were presented with certificates of appreciation. The event was coordinated by Prof. Roopa Kumari, Prof. Kiran Thapa, and Dr. Shallu Jasrotia under the guidance of Dr. Rajinder Kour (HOD Education).
The celebration concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and the pivotal role of youth in shaping a progressive and educated nation.
