KATHUA: In celebration of the 79th Independence Day and as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, GLDM Government Degree College Hiranagar, under the guidance of the District Administration Kathua, organized a vibrant Tiranga Rally today across the college campus and nearby areas.
The rally was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna, who emphasized the Tricolour as a powerful emblem of unity, sovereignty, and India’s rich cultural heritage. She encouraged the youth to actively engage in such initiatives to promote patriotism and a sense of civic duty.
The event began with the administration of the Tiranga Integrity Pledge to all participants, reaffirming their dedication to uphold constitutional values and strengthen national unity and progress.
Students, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, enthusiastically took part in the rally, carrying the National Flag and chanting patriotic slogans that captured the attention of local residents along the route.
The event was organized jointly by the college’s NSS Unit and the Physical Education Department. The organizing team comprised Director of Physical Education Prof. Balbir Singh, NSS Programme Officer Prof. Shapia Shameem, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan Convener Prof. Rakesh Sharma.
The programme concluded with NSS Volunteer Shavi Sharma leading the Integrity Pledge in both Hindi and English.
