GDC Kastigarh holds short film screening, mass recitation of National Song Vande Mataram

DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh organized a special programme as part of the ongoing 150th-anniversary celebrations of India’s iconic national song, Vande Mataram. Held under the guidance of Principal Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, the event included the screening of a short film on Vande Mataram followed by a mass recitation of the national song.

The short film highlighted the historical significance of Vande Mataram, tracing its role in the freedom struggle and its emergence as a symbol of national unity. The initiative forms a key component of the year-long celebrations honouring the song’s legacy, message and cultural influence.

A mass recitation was organised thereafter, with enthusiastic participation from students. Their spirited rendition created an atmosphere of patriotism and unity on the campus, while also inspiring them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, national pride and civic responsibility embodied in the song.
