DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh hosted a vibrant “Run for Vande Mataram” event to mark 150 years of the iconic national song Vande Mataram.

Organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Koshal Mangotra, the event aimed to instill unity, national pride, and physical fitness among students and staff, in line with the objectives of the Fit India Movement.

Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their patriotic spirit through their active involvement. This was followed by a mass recitation of Vande Mataram, where participants joined in unison, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotic zeal. The campus echoed with the powerful verses, reminding everyone of the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the cultural legacy the song represents.

Earlier, Prof. Mangotra addressed the gathering, highlighting the historical significance of Vande Mataram as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and national identity.

The programme was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Arjun Singh (PTI) and Dr. Anupam Lata. The celebration served as a meaningful tribute to the timeless message of Vande Mataram, reinforcing both physical well-being and emotional connection to the nation’s rich heritage.
