GDC Kastigarh celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with patriotic zeal and unity

KISHTWAR: Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The event aimed to instill among students the values of unity, integrity, and national pride, while reaffirming the importance of collective strength for a harmonious and resilient nation.

The celebration was held under the guidance and patronage of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the college, who encouraged students to emulate the ideals of Sardar Patel by upholding honesty, dedication, and unity in every sphere of life.

A key highlight of the event was an insightful keynote address by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, who spoke extensively about the life and vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Dr. Kotwal highlighted Patel’s pivotal role in integrating over 500 princely states into the Indian Union and his monumental contribution to laying the foundation of modern India. He emphasized that Patel’s leadership, courage, and foresight remain a beacon of inspiration for the younger generation in building a self-reliant and united nation.

Students actively participated in the celebration through inspiring speeches and presentations, expressing deep admiration for Sardar Patel’s legacy and his belief in “Unity in Diversity.” Their performances reflected a strong sense of national pride and responsibility toward preserving India’s unity and integrity.

The event also included the Rashtriya Ekta Pledge, where faculty members and students reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the nation’s unity, integrity, and brotherhood. The programme was conducted by Dr. Anupam Lata, while Prof. Sat Pal presented the formal vote of thanks.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to uphold the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in building a stronger, united, and progressive India.
