KATHUA: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, the NCC and NSS units of Government Degree College Kathua organized a two-day donation drive, reflecting the spirit of service and commitment toward the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Held on the college campus on September 17, the initiative saw enthusiastic participation from both students and staff. Funds raised during the drive were used to support an orphanage and an old age home in Kathua on September 18, fostering compassion, care, and social responsibility among the youth.
Meanwhile, the NSS unit of Government Degree College Mahanpur conducted a voluntary donation-and-distribution drive inspired by the Gandhian principle of Sarvodaya—uplifting the needy and underprivileged sections of society.
During the drive, NSS volunteers collected clothes, bed sheets, hygiene kits, books, food items, and medicines contributed by the college community. These relief materials were distributed among flood victims, elderly residents, and underprivileged students, spreading a message of empathy and social responsibility.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan, along with NSS volunteers, personally handed over the relief materials to the beneficiaries and lauded the enthusiastic participation of students and staff.
