GDC Majalta Hosts Youth Rally to Mark 150 Years of Vande Mataram

UDHAMPUR: Government Degree College Majalta organized a vibrant youth rally at Battal Chowk to mark 150 years of the iconic patriotic song Vande Mataram and highlight its historical and cultural significance in India’s freedom movement.

The rally was held under the supervision of Principal Prof. Dr. Shalini Sharma, with Dr. Chander Mohan (Convener, IQAC) and Dr. Dalip Kumar (HOD, EVS) leading the organization, and Prof. Naresh Kumar coordinating the event.

Around 120 enthusiastic students participated, raising slogans and carrying banners that reflected deep patriotism and national pride. The rally aimed to promote unity, national respect, and awareness among youth about the enduring legacy of Vande Mataram.

Faculty members Prof. Kamal Jeet, Dr. Baljeet Kour, Dr. Sunil Singh, and Dr. Mohd Abass Wani accompanied the students, ensuring the event was conducted smoothly and purposefully.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Shalini Sharma praised the organizers and students for their commitment. She noted that such initiatives are essential for helping young people reconnect with India’s rich history and cultural heritage.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants and supporters who contributed to the success of the rally.
