KATHUA: The Government Degree College, Ramkote, today held a valedictory ceremony to conclude the Sewa Parv celebrations, which began on 17th September 2025.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Suresh Chander, Convener of the Cultural Committee, followed by floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by the College Principal, faculty, and students.
Participants were briefed on the various activities conducted during the Sewa Parv Celebrations 2025, including cleanliness drives, slogan writing, poster-making and painting competitions, declamation, quizzes, and sanitation initiatives.
The College Principal emphasized the importance of Gandhi Jayanti and encouraged students to embrace the ideals of truth, non-violence, and satyagraha in their lives, fostering responsible citizenship and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
A Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Truth and Non-Violence” was also held, with enthusiastic participation from students of B.A. Semesters 1, 3, and 5. Sulekha Devi (B.A. Sem. 5) won first place, Neha Devi (B.A. Sem. 3) secured second, while Nitakshi (B.A. Sem. 3) and Tanu Devi (B.A. Sem. 1) shared the third position.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Pankaj Nandan, Convenor of IQAC. Faculty members present included Prof. Anu Sharma, Prof. Vasundra Raje, Krishan Singh, and Ankush Kundral.
