UDHAMPUR,: Government Medical College Udhampur today organized the annual cultural program “Udham 2024” in which students of both MBBS batches admitted so far participated along with teaching faculty, Senior Doctors, Residents and paramedical staff.
The program started with the traditional lamp lighting by Principal Dr. Mrityunjay, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjay K. Sharma and Senior Faculty.
Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, while addressing the gathering, virtually, explained the importance of this phase of life to all the students of this newly established college and exhorted them to be good doctors in future. He assured to increase more facilities with time.
MLA Udhampur West Pawan Gupta, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the students and explained the contribution of doctors in the society.
In the program, students from UT of J&K and those admitted under All India quota presented Dogri and Hindi songs, and Dogri, Punjabi, Haryanvi dances.
Ladakhi dance and Bhangra were especially liked by the audience.
After this, prizes were distributed to various winners of sports competitions held a few days ago.
