REASI: Government Polytechnic Reasi celebrated its Annual Sports Day on Saturday at the college campus, featuring exciting competitions in Badminton, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, and Volleyball.
The tournaments, which began on October 13, were conducted on a knockout basis ahead of the interdepartmental finals. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and presided over the final matches.
In his address, the Principal encouraged students to actively participate in sports to maintain physical fitness, develop team spirit, and nurture leadership qualities.
The event commenced with trials across all categories to shortlist the most talented players, followed by a series of matches to determine the finalists. A total of 56 students competed in Badminton, 40 in Carrom, 15 in Chess, and several departmental teams in Volleyball.
Earlier, the participants took a solemn sportsmanship pledge, led by the institution’s Sports Secretary Ajay Dogra, reaffirming their commitment to fairness, integrity, and camaraderie on the field.
