Mumbai: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle turned 92 on Monday, receiving an outpouring of heartfelt wishes from fans and celebrities alike.
Actor Kajol shared a special birthday message on Instagram, accompanied by a rare photograph from 2014 showing her with Asha Bhosle and Saif Ali Khan.
Paying tribute to Asha Bhosle’s enduring passion for music, Kajol wrote:
“#Throwback to October 2014 at the HN Reliance Hospital inauguration! And guess who is still looking fabulous, working, and performing at 92? Wishing this incredible legend an amazing year ahead! Had to make this post! Love you, Ashatai @asha.bhosle.”
Adding her signature wit, Kajol joked, “No, it’s not #SaifAliKhan and me.”
The picture captures the trio posing for the camera in traditional attire during the event. Asha Bhosle responded to the post with heart emojis in the comments.
Numerous other celebrities, including singers Anup Jalota and Kumar Sanu, also shared warm birthday wishes. Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, added a playful note: “Happy birthday to meri choti si Asha!! #92 or #29?? Hmm?”
Asha Bhosle is celebrated as one of Hindi cinema’s most successful playback singers. Over a career spanning eight decades, she has recorded songs in multiple Indian languages and earned numerous awards. Some of her most iconic tracks include “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo,” “Le Gayi,” “Sharara,” “Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera,” “Rangeela Re,” and “In Ankhon Ki Masti.”
She has been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in 2008.
