‘Greatest gift…’: Shah Rukh Khan expresses pride on India’s 79th Independence Day

Mumbai: Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan extended heartfelt greetings as India marked its 79th Independence Day on Friday.

On social media, SRK shared a picture from the balcony of his residence Mannat, where he was seen waving to fans alongside his youngest son, AbRam. The national flag stood proudly at the forefront, reflecting his patriotic spirit.

Describing independence as the nation’s “greatest gift,” he wrote:
“Our Independence is our greatest gift… a key to our progress. Let’s keep our heads held high and hearts open. Happy Independence Day to all of us… Jai Hind!”

Earlier in the day, several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Vikrant Massey, Arjun Rampal, Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Priyanka Chopra, had also shared their Independence Day wishes online.

On the professional front, Shah Rukh was recently honoured with the prestigious National Film Award for his performance in Atlee’s Jawan. Following the announcement, the actor expressed gratitude, saying:
“Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B Ministry… Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today.”

SRK’s next project, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is currently in production. While details of the cast and storyline remain under wraps, reports suggest the actor is recovering from muscular injuries sustained during filming.
