Srinagar: The Gulmarg Gondola will remain closed from September 22 to 29 for its annual inspection and maintenance, the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) announced on Thursday.
A JKCCC official said the temporary suspension is part of a routine safety exercise carried out every year to ensure smooth and secure functioning of the world-renowned cable car service.
“The Gondola shall remain closed from 22nd to 29th September for scheduled inspection and maintenance. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the official statement read.
Asia’s largest and highest cable car, the Gulmarg Gondola draws hundreds of visitors daily and remains one of Kashmir’s most popular tourist attractions.
