Baramulla: The famous hill resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has turned into a breathtaking white wonderland after a fresh spell of snowfall blanketed the region.

The picturesque destination, renowned for its lush meadows and panoramic views, now lies covered under a pristine layer of snow, drawing visitors eager to witness its winter charm.

This is the first major snowfall of the season, marking the onset of winter in the Kashmir Valley. Known for its snow-capped peaks and enchanting landscapes, Gulmarg remains a top destination for winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. With the arrival of snow, tourist inflow is expected to rise sharply.

The once-green trees now shimmer like crystal in the snow, turning the entire area into a serene, fairy-tale-like paradise.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of Jammu and Kashmir, Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of -2°C and a maximum of 10°C, with a forecast of “generally cloudy skies with light rain.”

The weather for November 6 and 7 is expected to remain “mainly clear,” with daytime temperatures around 13°C and nighttime lows near 0°C. From November 8 to 10, the RMC predicts clear skies with maximum temperatures of 12°C and minimums around 1°C.
