Pathankot: Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of Gurj Division, Indian Army hosted a vibrant and impactful event at Novelty Mall, featuring an entrepreneurs’ exhibition and a scintillating dance competition, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to empowerment of women and civil military integration.
The entrepreneurs’ exhibition, under theme Abhivyakti was the highlight of the event. It showcased the diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit of soldiers’ wives. Participants displayed a wide array of products and services, from handcrafted goods and culinary delights to fashion and innovative ventures. This initiative aimed to provide a platform for these women to gain exposure, build networks, and cultivate sustainable livelihoods, many of whom had honed their skills at the Army Skill Training Centre.
Mrs. Manju Devi, a talented Dot Mandala artist said “This event has been a game-changer for me. The training received at the Army Skill Training Centre was instrumental in honing my artistic skills and providing me with the foundational knowledge to start my own business”.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the event also featured a lively dance competition open to all. 78 participants of all ages and backgrounds showcased their talent and passion for dance, creating an electrifying and entertaining experience for the audience. The competition served as a platform for cultural expression and promoted a spirit of joy and camaraderie. The competition was judged by Mrs Sarbjeet Kaur, Miss Heena and Mr Sahil Kumar all are avid choreographers of Pathankot.
