Jammu: Heavy rainfall in Jammu has damaged several heritage temples, officials said on Sunday.
Vikramaditya Singh, trustee of the Dharmarth Trust and former MLC, assured that restoration work will begin soon. Singh, grandson of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, visited the affected sites to assess the extent of damage caused by rain and flash floods.
During his visit, he inspected the Baldev Ji, Chintapurni, Savitri, and Shivnab Ji temples at Mubarak Mandi, along with the Rani Samadhis complex. Expressing concern, Singh emphasized the religious and cultural importance of these heritage sites for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
A trust spokesman said Singh has urged the Jammu Municipal Corporation and government authorities to extend immediate support for repairs.
“The trust will make every effort to ensure the damaged temples and complexes are restored at the earliest, so devotees can continue to offer prayers without inconvenience,” Singh stated, reaffirming the trust’s commitment to preserving the region’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
