Udhampur: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday airlifted and delivered nearly six tonnes of relief material to flood-affected residents of Dammote panchayat in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, officials said.

“IAF pilots carried out challenging helicopter missions with precision, dropping 5.9 tonnes of relief supplies on the roof of a school in Dammote panchayat, serving as a lifeline for stranded villagers,” the Defence PRO, Jammu, stated.

He added that continuous heavy rains, flash floods and landslides have severely disrupted normal life in Udhampur.

“The IAF’s dedicated efforts are restoring hope and rebuilding lives in Jammu and Kashmir,” the PRO said.
