REASI: In an ongoing humanitarian effort, the District Administration Reasi, with support from the Indian Air Force, has so far delivered 94 quintals of essential ration to Sarhi village in Tehsil Bhomag.
After 25 quintals were airlifted earlier, an additional 69 quintals were airdropped on Thursday to ensure uninterrupted food supplies for the residents. The relief operation is being coordinated under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik.
Sarhi village remains cut off as multiple landslides have blocked the Reasi–Sarhi (via Tote) road, while the alternative Udhampur–Sarhi (via Moungri) route is inaccessible due to the collapse of the Thathi Bridge.
“Despite tough terrain and adverse weather, we are ensuring timely ration supply to Sarhi. Today, 69 quintals were successfully dropped, and operations will continue, subject to weather conditions,” Deputy Commissioner Malik said.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to extend all possible assistance, including emergency medical services, to remote and inaccessible areas affected by landslides and heavy rains.
