Srinagar: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, on Monday said that comprehensive multi-tier security measures are being implemented to ensure smooth and peaceful Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
Speaking to the media, Birdi said that rehearsal drills are underway in preparation for the event, alongside robust security arrangements. He added that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with paramilitary forces, will put in place a layered security system to maintain safety and order during the celebrations.
