IGP Kashmir Reviews Security Measures Across the Region

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, on Tuesday directed officers to enhance night patrolling, strengthen investigations, and maintain strict vigilance over anti-national elements.

Chairing a security review meeting at PCR Kashmir, IGP Birdi emphasized the need for building robust cases to ensure higher conviction rates in terrorism and narcotics-related cases. He also called for intensified market checks to curb unlawful activities.

The meeting was attended by all Range DIGs, district SSPs of the Kashmir Zone, and other senior officers, who briefed the IGP on the prevailing law and order situation in their respective districts.

IGP Birdi stressed establishing effective follow-up mechanisms for successful prosecutions, strengthening area domination, conducting targeted night patrolling in sensitive zones, and keeping close watch on anti-national elements.

Concluding the session, V.K. Birdi reaffirmed the J&K Police’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region, urging officers to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely resolution of cases to protect citizens’ rights.
