Jammu: Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti on Saturday reviewed the Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on various multi-sectoral policing recommendations in the Jammu region, stressing that all initiatives should align with the national vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
The review meeting, chaired by the IGP at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Jammu, was conducted in preparation for the upcoming 60th All-India DGPs and IGPs Conference in Chhattisgarh next month.
“IGP Bhim Sen Tuti reviewed progress on recommendations from previous DGPs and IGPs conferences,” a senior police officer said. The high-level meeting was attended by top police officials of the region, both in person and via video conferencing.
During the session, the IGP examined ATRs covering contemporary policing and internal security issues, including cybercrime, technological advancements in policing, counter-terrorism challenges, and reforms involving Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in law enforcement. Officers were also encouraged to develop national-level strategies and innovate to bring measurable improvements in police functioning.
Emphasising the national vision for 2047, the IGP stressed the importance of timely compliance with pending directives and strict adherence to national policing guidelines.
Chhattisgarh will host the All-India DGP-IGP Conference for the first time next month. The three-day event, beginning November 28, will focus on internal security, anti-Naxal operations, and cybersecurity. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the conference, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the valedictory session. Around 250 DGP- and IGP-rank officers will attend in person, with over 200 joining virtually.
Separately, a preparatory meeting was held under the IGP’s chairmanship to review arrangements for the forthcoming National Police Commemoration Day on October 21. The IGP highlighted the significance of the day, describing it as a solemn occasion to honour the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs while reinforcing the bond between the police and the public. He called on all officers to ensure that the events are conducted with dignity and precision befitting the occasion.
