Illegal Mineral Transport Busted in Jammu Rural Zone

Jammu, December 18, 2025: As part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal mining activities, Jammu (Rural) Police detained two vehicles involved in unauthorized extraction and transport of minerals in separate incidents across the Rural Zone.

In the first case, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli seized a tipper with registration number JK02DC-5656, which was found carrying minerals without the required permits. The vehicle was immediately detained on site.

In a separate incident, police from Police Post Jourian intercepted a dumper bearing registration number JK02BV-8566, caught extracting clay illegally without proper authorization. The vehicle was promptly taken into custody.

The District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu, has been informed in both cases to initiate further legal action under the relevant mining laws. These measures reflect the police’s commitment to curb illegal mining and protect the region’s natural resources.
