Srinagar, Nov 27: The Srinagar Traffic Police has raised concern over wrong parking near the SMHS Hospital, which has been choking the OPD road and hampering patient access. SSP Traffic Srinagar stated that the issue has become critical, with vehicles parked haphazardly obstructing smooth movement of ambulances and patients.
Officials said that despite repeated advisories, motorists continue to park along the busy hospital stretch, creating bottlenecks and delaying emergency services. The congestion has drawn sharp criticism from patients and attendants, who report difficulties in reaching the hospital on time.
SSP Traffic emphasized that strict enforcement measures are being taken to clear the road and ensure unhindered access to the hospital. He added that violators will face penalties, and towing operations will be intensified to restore order.
Authorities reiterated that hospitals are sensitive zones where traffic discipline must be observed to safeguard lives. The police appealed to the public to cooperate and avoid parking in restricted areas, stressing that patient safety and emergency access remain top priorities.
