Srinagar: Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday assured that all examinations in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted as per schedule and in line with the academic calendar. She added that the government is also seeking suggestions from stakeholders to address the academic losses suffered by students.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo said students’ education had been severely disrupted—first due to a war-like situation, followed by a heatwave and then flood-like conditions in the Union Territory. She noted that several schools across both regions were damaged in the recent natural calamities.
“As far as examinations are concerned, I want to make it clear that all exams will be held on time,” the minister emphasized.
She further said the department is actively consulting with stakeholders to explore ways to compensate for the academic setbacks faced by students this year.
“Last year we shifted the academic session from March to November–December. It was a major challenge, but now the system has been streamlined to a large extent,” Itoo added.
